New Jersey Ultimate Travel Guide

Maybe I am biased at a “New Jerseyian”, but people wrongfully drag on New Jersey as it is a wonderful place to live and visit. As the United States’ most densely populated state, the garden state is a place of magic with its diverse culture and cuisines. With access to New York City in north and Philedelphia in the south, you will be close to some of the country’s coolest cities. No need to leave New Jersey though, as there are plenty of beautiful beaches, epic mountains, and America’s best shopping (there’s a reason the mall parking lots are full of “out of staters”. Don’t hate on Jersey till you visit her and make sure to try a bagel with taylor ham, egg, and cheese on it.

BUCKET LIST EXPERIENCES

  • taylor ham egg and cheese

    Eat a Taylor Ham (not Pork Roll), Egg, and Cheese sandwich

    It’s a weird New Jersey thing—just do it. It also is a debate among New Jerseyians on what it is called. Northern New Jerseyians will say “Taylor Ham” and Southern New Jerseyians will say “Pork Roll”. There is also no Central New Jersey (that is another NJ debate).

    Visit the Jersey Shore

    No not like the show!!! The Jersey Shore is home to some of the best beaches in the Northeast region of the United States. My personal favorite is Sea Bright beach.

    Go Shopping!

    New Jersey is a real shopper’s paradise. There is a reason the shopping malls are full of out-of-staters in the parking lot. Some of the best malls are Short Hills Mall, Paramus Park, Garden State Plaza, and Willowbrook Mall. Oh, and did I mention there is no tax on clothes?

  • A breakfast meal consisting of a large yellow omelette, roasted potatoes with herbs, a slice of orange, and a piece of brown bread with a packet of butter

    Explore the amazing food scene

    New Jersey has some of the best food in the country thanks to its diverse populous. My personal favorite are the pizza joints and Italian restaurants. Check out Star Tavern in Orange and thank me later!
